Find and import footage
Move from a shot idea to a usable clip without losing its source context.
Describe the shot you need
Choose a reel or carousel in Source studio, then Videos & references. Search for the subject plus the event, camera angle, movement and sound you need.
- Use filters such as vertical, high angle, from behind or original sound.
- Open the source and watch the useful moment. Check date, identity and quality.
- Save promising candidates with a note about what to keep.
Turn a candidate into usable footage
A web result may be a reference rather than an imported video. Use the import action when supported. Otherwise upload a video file you can obtain and use. Stock footage can be imported directly when offered.
Check the actual clip
Watch it at the final crop. A landscape clip can become soft when enlarged to fill a vertical frame. Prefer sharp vertical sources when the final reel is vertical. Listen before deciding whether to keep the original audio.
Keep source context
Retain source links and notes with your candidates. Confirm that the footage is appropriate for your use before publishing. Search availability does not mean reuse permission, and importing does not remove that responsibility.
